The extended curriculum route has a one-year foundation programme followed by the mainstream MBChB. Reserved for South African Black learners from Quintile 1 and Quintile 2 schools. Applicant must not previously have participated in tertiary education. Applicant must have been unable to obtain admission into the mainstream six-year MBChB programme. Only approximately 50 spaces are available on a competitive basis. Requires two additional NSC subjects at Level 4.
