Eligibility

  • South African citizen
  • Unemployed and not older than 26 years
  • Currently in Matric or has completed Matric
  • Studying or intending to study full-time towards a first undergraduate qualification in an eligible field
  • Postgraduate funding limited to Law, Accounting CA, Actuarial Science, Mathematics and Statistics
  • Studying or intending to study at a recognised public University or University of Technology in South Africa
  • Matric students need the listed IDC academic threshold; tertiary students need the listed tertiary threshold
  • Combined household income not more than R350 000 per year, with missing-middle applicants also considered
  • Preference for students with disabilities and students from Quintile 1 to 3 or rural schools
