Fields covered
Film and Television-related fields, excluding performing arts, acting, music, dancing and courses outside the Film and TV category.
Coverage value
Full tuition fees. First-year students may also receive capped support up to R50 000 for meals, accommodation and resources such as textbooks, computer or software. Travel and outstanding debt are excluded.

Eligibility

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric
  • Studying or intending to study full-time towards an undergraduate or postgraduate diploma or degree in the film or television industry
  • Registered or provisionally registered at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
  • Strong academic record
  • Current students need at least 60% overall average
  • Proven financial need with combined household income below R600 000 per year
  • Preference for students enrolled at public tertiary institutions in South Africa

Supporting documents

  • Certified copy of ID document, not older than 6 months
  • Certified copy of Matric certificate, not older than 6 months
  • Certified most recent academic results or transcripts, if currently studying
  • Proof of tertiary acceptance or acknowledgment of application
  • Breakdown of annual academic fees
  • One-page motivational letter
  • Proof of income or financial support documents
  • Funding commitment letter, if receiving other bursary funding
