Eligibility

  • Currently in Matric in 2026
  • Top-achieving student
  • Intends to study full-time at the University of the Free State in 2027
  • Shows excellent results or strong potential in academics, sport, culture or leadership
  • May attend a Quintile 1 to 5 school, private school, or be home-schooled
  • Agrees to the competition terms and conditions

A short letter introducing the applicant and motivation for the bursary.

Certified copy of ID document Required

Certified copy of Matric certificate Academic

Required if Matric has been completed. One academic record option must be uploaded.

Full academic record or transcript Academic

Use tertiary institution letterhead where available. One academic record option must be uploaded.

Grade 12 marks Academic

Latest Grade 12 marks are accepted when Matric is not complete.

Grade 11 marks Academic

Grade 11 final marks may support current Matric applications.

Family IDs

Certified ID copies for parents, legal guardian, or spouse, if financial need applies.

Proof of income

Payslips, employment letters, or retrenchment letters for parents or guardians. Not needed for SASSA grant recipients.

Special case documents

Disability Annexure A or Vulnerable Child Declaration, if applicable.
